Dimension Notes

For convenience of person reading drawing.
No calculations necessary.
No Duplicate dimensions.
No closer than 3/8th inch from object.
Leader scale = dimension scale.
LEADERS
Arrow pointing to an edge.
Dot pointed to a surface.
Arrow line at any angle except horizontal or verticle.
As short as possible.
LINEAR DIMENSION.
Length, width, and height 1st things dimensioned.
Off of view where detail is best shown.
Dont dimension from a hidden line.
Locate dimensions from a common corner.
Smallest dimension closest to object.
ANGLE DIMENSION.
Degree = %d.
Arcs are dimensioned as radius.

Circles are dimensioned as diameter.
Diameter symbol=%c
Cylinders are dimensioned in the side view.
Check mark= finished surfaces. 1/4th inch tall.
Ordinate dimensions use distances on the X and Y axis.
